Wii gamers looking to expand their Rock Band experience finally have the opportunity to download new songs, as MTV Games and Harmonix have now launched the music store for the Nintendo console. The store kicks off with 50 downloadable tracks, which includes the 20 free tracks that were released late last year. Tracks will sell for 200 Wii Points (US$2) individually.
Wii owners have some catching up to do, but Harmonix said that "Wii fans can expect a rollout of the previously released downloadable content every week until the entire back catalogue of more than 500 songs is available."
Furthermore, the regularly scheduled downloadable content each week for Xbox 360 and PS3 will also become available simultaneously for Wii starting in February. Those gamers who wish to download a lot of songs would be advised to pick up an extra SD card, as the Wii's internal memory won't suffice.
