Rock Band Track Packs Coming to Wii, PS2

Wii and PS2 owners of Rock Band may feel left out when it comes to downloadable songs, but Harmonix is determined to bring fans those extra tracks one way or another. Today, the developer and its parent company MTV Games announced that Rock Band Track Pack Volume 1 will be coming to the Wii and PS2 on July 15. Rock Band for the Wii ships on June 22, so less than a month after the release of the music game, consumers will be able to pick up Track Pack Volume 1 for $29.99.

The disc is packed with 20 songs that have already been made available as downloadable content on the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. The track listing is as follows:

30 Seconds to Mars - The Kill
All American Rejects - Move Along
Blink – 182 - All the Small Things
Boston - More Than a Feeling
David Bowie - Moonage Daydream
Faith No More - We Care A Lot
Grateful Dead - Truckin'
The Hives - Die, All Right!
KISS - Calling Dr. Love
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Gimme' Three Steps
Nine Inch Nails - March of the Pigs
Oasis - Live Forever
Paramore - Crushcrushcrush
The Police - Synchronicity II
Queens of the Stone Age - Little Sister
Ramones - Teenage Lobotomy
Smashing Pumpkins - Siva
Stone Temple Pilots - Interstate Love Song
Weezer - Buddy Holly
Wolfmother - Joker & the Thief

It's not an ideal situation for Wii and PS2 owners since they obviously can't pick individual tracks to download separately, but at least Harmonix is enabling these gamers to expand their Rock Band experience as well.

UPDATE: We pinged MTV to see if the release of Track Packs for Wii and PS2 is the company's strategy going forward, and if we'd see new Track Packs released every few months, but MTV would not confirm future Track Packs just yet. A spokesperson told us, "As of now, the Track Pack Volume 1 is our only confirmed offering for PS2 and Wii users. In terms of the possibility of future releases - we are leaving our options open."
