Colombian rocker Juanes says he wants to perform one of his "Peace Without Borders" concerts at the U.S.-Mexico border next year.
In a Twitter entry Monday, Juanes says he hopes to hold the concern between Ciudad Juarez and El Paso, Texas.
He writes that "after Cuba, the idea is to go to the border between the U.S.A. and Mexico."
The Grammy-winning singer has received harsh criticism from Cuban exiles in the U.S. for planning a "peace" concert to be held in Havana on Sept. 20.
Juanes is known for his social activism. His first "Peace Without Borders" concert in March 2008 drew tens of thousands to the border between Venezuela and Colombia when tensions were high over a Colombian commando raid into neighboring Ecuador.
