CASTLE stars the charismatic Nathan Fillion as best-selling crime writer Richard Castle who helps the NYPD investigate a copycat serial killer. We last saw Fillion playing Katherine Mayfair's husband on Desperate Housewives and he is utterly charming and sexy as the playboy author in this new series. Up-and-comer Stana Katic, who recently appeared in the films Quantum of Solace and The Spirit, co-stars as NYPD Detective Kate Beckett, forced to work with Castle after he decides to shadow her for inspiration for his new series of books.
And keep an eye out for Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated actress Susan Sullivan, best known for her roles in Dharma & Greg, Falcon Crest and My Best Friend's Wedding, playing Castle's boozehound of a mum.
Fillion's magnetism in the title role makes CASTLE a very appealing new offering in the "crime-busting duo with sparks" genre. And with lead-in BONES back to timeslot winning numbers on Sundays at 8.30pm (over 1.26 million viewers on the weekend), the foundations look strong for CASTLE.
