The Rafters packs them in

SEVEN put a stop to Channel Ten's ratings boom on Tuesday night, returning with a new series of Packed To The Rafters , which stars Rebecca Gibney , pictured. Despite not airing in Melbourne, Rafters drew a national average of more than 1.5 million viewers at 8.30pm on Tuesday night, winning its timeslot - which was not such a challenge against NCIS and Two And A Half Men . It only goes to show that the latter two rate well only in times of drought for Australian drama.

Seven also triumphed in the 8pm timeslot, with Find My Family the most watched program of the night, with an average audience of 1.65 million. It was followed on the ladder by Seven News (1.64 million), Ten's Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation (1.6 million), and Today Tonight 1.5 million.) After its disappointing debut on Monday, Nine's new 4.30pm news and current affairs program, This Afternoon , lost viewers, down 7000 to 314,000 on Tuesday. Seven won the prime time audience share with 33.2 per cent, followed by Ten with 26.2 per cent and Nine with 22.4 per cent. The ABC hardly got a look-in, down to a 14 per cent audience share and SBS 4.2 per cent.
