MCV is reporting that Sony has trademarked the name "PS Cloud." This came down apparently just one day after OnLive gave its presentation at GDC. The company's server-based game solution is based on a technology often referred to as "cloud computing."
This move could be a sign that Sony has plans for a streaming gaming service of its own for an upcoming home or portable console. It is just as likely, however, that this is just a move to secure the company's PlayStation brand in the face of new technology.
