Capcom has revealed on its official blog that its new Bionic Commando game will ship this May for Xbox 360 and PS3. A PC version is slated for release in the "following months."
Capcom describes: "Reloaded for the latest generation of hardware, Bionic Commando sees the return of the ultimate fusion of man and machine. A favorite amongst gamers around the world when first launched 20 years ago with the 8-bit original on the NES. Bionic Commando features Nathan Spencer (voiced by former lead singer of Faith No More, Mike Patton), as a government operative who, after distinguishing himself in a fierce conflict against the Imperials, is betrayed and falsely imprisoned by the very people he unquestioningly served."
The game will feature both the Bionic Arm and the swing mechanic that made the original game memorable to gamers. The arm has been upgraded, however, with "a range of devastating attacks."
With Street Fighter IV coming this month, Resident Evil 5 in March, and Bionic Commando in May, Capcom is definitely starting 2009 on the right foot.
