With Red Ant Enterprises' future under the hands of its administrators, Capcom today announced that it has appointed THQ Asia Pacific Pty Ltd., a subsidiary of U.S. based THQ Inc. as the new distributor of its titles in Australia and New Zealand. Under the terms of the agreement, THQ Asia Pacific will be responsible for the distribution, sales and marketing for Capcom’s releases in this territory, effective immediately.

The news comes soon after Konami jumped ship in the wake of news of Red Ant's financial difficulties, returning to a distribution partnership with Atari Australia. Red Ant Enterprises still handles distribution of games by Midway, Bethesda and 505 Games but only time will tell if those publishers will choose to find a new partner as well.

THQ Asia Pacific will launch the distribution relationship with the highly anticipated Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5, which are scheduled for release for both the PLAYSTATION 3 and the Xbox 360 on February 20th and March 13th respectively, as well as Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop which is due for release on the Nintendo Wii on February 27th. In addition, THQ Asia Pacific will handle distribution for MotoGP on the Nintendo Wii and Neopets Puzzle Adventure scheduled for release on the Nintendo Wii, DS and PC platforms.
