Las Vegas is a fun time, save for when it's overrun with zombies. That's the premise behind Capcom's Dead Rising 2, the sequel to its million selling Xbox 360 video game. Whereas the original takes place in the Willamette shopping mall, this one whisks us away to the glamorous Fortune City, a glitzy version of Nevada's gambling utopia. That means new creatures, characters and most importantly, weapons.
Dead Rising's all about pummeling zombies with every weapon imaginable, even unconventional objects. The same can be said of the sequel, as you (as a unannounced blonde-haired hero) explore casinos and bash enemies with whatever you find, be it roulette wheel, oversized calculator, guitar, baseball bat and even inside a giant metal ball (you hop right in and squash zombies, hamster style). You can even run them over while on a motorcycle.
Since the game takes place in a different environment, Capcom created new zombies to reflect the location. Based on the screen shots, you can expect to encounter zombie show girls, folks in fancy clothes and others wearing ugly tourist shirts. We can only imagine the types of colorful bosses the developers will dream up.
For now, most of Dead Rising 2 remains under wraps, but with the Electronic Entertainment Expo as well as a special Capcom event quickly approaching, we expect to learn more about this exciting survival horror game, available later this year for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
