Metallica's Hetfield Says, 'Guitar Hero is a Gateway Drug to Real Music'

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Metallica frontman James Hetfield talked about the upcoming Guitar Hero: Metallica. After making some humorous comments about how bad his band is at playing Guitar Hero, he responded to criticism that music games keep kids away from trying real instruments.

"I think Guitar Hero is a great gateway drug to real music," said Hetfield. "If you've got the music bug, nothing's gonna stop you. It's your destiny to express your gift."

When asked about his first gaming love, Hetfield went super old school and said, "My buddy had Pong. We were obsessed with it. That was it, man."
