Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) sent out a release celebrating the impending release of Killzone 2. While noting the game's critical acclaim (Metacritic score of 92) they announced that a TV ad will be hitting US airwaves soon for the PS3 title. Called "Bullet," the ad was apparently rendered entirely in Killzone 2's in-game engine.

"Every single frame of this commercial was directly rendered on a PS3 without the need for additional tweaking or touching up. We're very proud that our game engine technology has reached the point where we don't have to resort to software pre-rendering," said Hermen Hulst, Managing Director. "In that regard it is a testament to our commitment to deliver on what we promise. What you see is what you get."

SCEA goes on to note that Killzone 2 is but one of the hit titles the company has planned for 2009. Also expected to release on PS3 in 2009 are Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, inFamous, MAG, Heavy Rain and MLB 09 The Show. God of War III was also included on the list of games slated for this year, something that had heretofore not been revealed. As we've reported previously, SCEA is expected to announce an official release date of God of War III at E3 this June.
