Skate 2 Review (Xbox 360, PS3)

In Skate 2, Electronic Arts took the original's excellent gameplay and added new features to enhance the experience. Being able to modify grabs, tweaks, hand plants and other moves with an analog stick adds depth, and you can move objects to modify your tricks, such as benches and dumpsters. Off-the-board walking controls make your skater feel sluggish, but the wealth of options makes this an almost non-issue. In addition, the visuals look amazing, thanks to well-animated skaters and the detailed city of San Vanelona. A mix of classic and alternative tunes only adds to the impressive experience. Skate 2 is also an ideal choice for multiplayer action, thanks to enjoyable online skating sessions; solo players will also love the career mode. Be sure to grab your digital board and bust out some tricks.

Our Final Score: 8/10 (Good)
