You can choose to limit the people who can send you e-mail or allow e-mail from anyone.
Note: You need to be signed on to a master E-mail address or an E-mail address on a General Access category to adjust the Mail Controls. A master E-mail address is the first E-mail address you created for this account and any E-mail address you have assigned master E-mail address status at AOL® Keyword: Names.
To control who can send you e-mail:
1. Go to http://www.aol.com/, click the Mail icon, then sign in using your AOL® E-mail address and password.
2. In the upper left, click the Settings link.
3. In the left panel, click the Spam Controls link.
4. In the Spam Filters by Address section, click the drop-down menu to open it, choose the appropriate option by clicking it.
Note: You have the following five options available:
Allow mail from all senders: Anyone can send you e-mails.
Allow mail only from AOL and AIM members: Only AOL and AIM members can send you e-mails.
Allow mail only from people I know: Only people listed in your Buddy List® or AOL® address book can send you e-mails.
Block mail from all senders: All e-mails will be blocked.
Custom: Only the e-mail addresses listed in your Custom Sender List can send you e-mails.
5. Click the Save button.
6. In the Blocked mail section, choose an option by clicking it.
7. Click the Save button.
