Mira Vukovic is the talent behind Mad Cortes, a label that scooped the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival Designer Award in 2004 and has been on every fashionista’s hot-list ever since.
The name Mad Cortes stems from one of Mira’s childhood comicbook heroes Corto Maltese, a sailor whose many adventures end with saving the day and winning the girl’s affection. Seduction and romance are intrinsic to the label, as are Mira’s constant experiments with construction techniques, textures and finishes that give her designs such cool sophistication with a twist.
