Creating a balance between structured tailoring and free form drapery, LIFEwithBIRD explores function and provides a new definition for how to dress. This is the world of high casual, where beauty clashes with the reality of the street.
This season's highlights…
This range embodies the LIFEwithBIRD philosophy of design through the beauty of function. It is inspired by both nature and man. High tech materials were chosen to create a dynamic aesthetic. Channeling the need for flexibility, comfort and style, the building material for this collection began with modern jerseys, customized silks, high-tech blends, structured drills, graphic prints and a reflection of metallic.
Urban inspired detailing is created through linear structures and balanced by the warmth and comfort of nature. Silhouettes hang from frames, whilst volume is tricked and teased by an array of pleats and elasticized bands. Balloon and volume hems are reworked with this juxtaposition of pleats. Jackets and Tees are elongated, trousers are stretch tailored, and the comfort of oversized shapes is paired back with skinny legs and metallic fitted sleeves. The LIFEwithBIRD minimalist style remains, whilst maximalism is employed through graphic overlays of print, colour and high-tech fabrications.
Colour came from the various stages of light cast upon our landscape. Ultra Yellow is the impenetrable sun, which burns through the Mist Grey mornings and the hazy Dusk pink at night. White Clouds roll in and block out the light, setting the stage for the Thunder Grey/Brown sky and the tempestuous Charcoal Storm, which howls into the blackness of night.

(Bridget McCall): Wearing ridiculously high shoes at inappropriate times, speaking my mind, and always being the last man standing.
What are two of your favourite things about winter?
The first would have to be a great trench coat. Classic, stylish and works on all body types. Then – Boots! A great boot will be a staple with everything this Winter.
