Matthew McConaughey wants to be a stay-at-home dad

Matthew McConaughey is planning to be a stay-at-home dad.

The Fool's Gold star – whose girlfriend, model Camila Alves, is expecting their first child – is reportedly so anxious about missing the first moments of his baby's life, he has already begun clearing his work schedule.

A friend said: "Matt joked if he wasn't careful he will wake up bald and old and having missed out on years of his kid's life that he couldn't get back."

McConaughey will finish shooting crime drama Hammer Down before taking on his fatherhood duties.

Camila, who is due to give birth this summer, is delighted the actor has decided to devote more time to her and the baby.

The friend added to America's OK! magazine: "He's intent on being there for his kid the way his parents were for him.

"Camila's enjoying the idea of having him around. The two are busy picking out baby names!"
