See the mystery "iPhone Girl" whose photo popped up on the iPhone of a British customer? Who is she?
The Associated Press reports that the customer posted on the MacRumors.com Web site the three photos, which show a young Asian woman working on what appears to be an iPhone assembly line. She is dressed in an outfit of pink stripes and a hat and is wearing white gloves with yellow fingertips. The mystery girl, who looks very young for someone who holds a factory job, is shown smiling and making the peace sign as she poses next to an iPhone.
The British customer said the photos popped up on his new 3G iPhone after he launched the iTunes program. Who is she? Some news reports say she may work at a factory run by an Apple contractor, Taiwan-based Foxconn Technology Group, in the southern Chinese boomtown of Shenzhen. The South China Morning Post has confirmed she does indeed work there. A spokeswoman for Foxconn said the workers are instructed to take photos to test the device but may have forgotten to delete them. An unidentified Foxconn official said the young woman has not been fired for the indiscretion.
