Stacy Haiduk, an actress on the soap opera "The Young and the Restless, walked the red carpet for the Daytime Emmy Awards with a most unusual accessory: A dead cat turned into a purse. Actually, it's not as gross as it sounds. The cat is "Kitty," the extremely realistic prop cat used on the show. And Kitty has legions of fans.

AOL's Pawnation.com reports that Haiduk turned "Kitty," her soap opera character's cat, into a purse so the cat could also attend the awards show. On the show, Haiduk's character, the mentally unstable Mary Jane Benson, has an unhealthy relationship with her dead stuffed cat, but in real life, Haiduk loves animals. Not only does she have three (live) cats, but also sports a cat tattoo on her ankle.

Haiduk talked to TV Guide about "Kitty" saying, "I don't want to say she's my favorite co-star, but Kitty is amazing to work with. ...The whole Y&R cast jokes about Kitty. We love her." Pawnation.com surmises that bringing Kitty to the Daytime Emmy Awards was a nod to her and Kitty's fans.
