With a fresh take on silhouettes and fabrics, Vineet Bahl's idea of fashion is about effortless style. Designing for women who believe in "world fashion", Vineet likes to reinterpret cultural motifs in a modern context. His work is understated, but high on technique.
Trained at Nottingham Trent University, Vineet launched his label in 2003. He currently retails in Paris, Florence, Berlin, Kuwait and select boutiques in cities across India.
Lemonade
Refreshing and light, have it anytime, morning, afternoon or night. Lemonade is the greatest thing about summers. And its essence is reflected in Vineet Bahl's Spring Summer 2008 collection.
Vineet captures the spirit of lemonade with airy fabrics like chiffon, georgette and silk matka.
The line showcases some effervescent and soothing ensembles in vivid colours of spring and summer. Starting with pale, sun bleached hues of pink, ivory and beige to sun burnt crayolas to rich syrupy tones of sunset red, dusky grey and peppy browns. All deliciously squeezed on to A-line and empire line silhouettes.
The liquid softness of Vineet's dresses lures some fresh techniques, playing with trappings of gauze with multi-dimensional flower embroidery. The tingling colours stir in a new flavour to every outfit, evenly balancing the lightness of fabric with richness in tone.
Garnished appropriately by fresh blossoms and floral prints, Vineet’s dresses fall beautifully on the body, gently brushing the frame while keeping you cool.
