You know your girlfriend is big on communicating. And while there are many questions she wishes you'd pop (up to and including that big one), there are also a number of questions she hopes she never has to answer.
What shouldn't you ask?
Ignorant Inquiry #1: Is that what you're wearing?
Rarely does a woman just throw something on and head out the door. Always assume that whatever she's wearing, down to the shoes and accessories, was deliberated, agonized over and finally chosen after several passes in front of the mirror. Your (unwanted, unappreciated) fashion advice will not be taken kindly.
Ignorant Inquiry #2: How much did that cost?
No matter how you phrase it, what she hears is: "How much money did you waste on this totally unnecessary purchase?" Give her some credit for being capable of making an intelligent decision as a consumer. (Besides, it was on sale!) Unless it was on your credit card, what business is it of yours anyway?
Ignorant Inquiry #3: How many men have you been with?
If you're dumb enough to ask, at least be smart enough to know she's going to lie in the answer. Why? We know that there is no answer that will please you. Too high a number and we look indiscriminate. Too low and we look prudish or inexperienced. So we use that same fuzzy math you guys perfected - deduct partners whose names you can't recall, subtract drunken one-night stands and unmemorable sex - and fib.
Ignorant Inquiry #4: Was it good for you?
Unlike you, maybe it's a little less obvious when we've crossed the sexual finish line. But most girls dislike the pressure of this question. Even if she's perfectly happy - and it should be pretty obvious if she is or isn't, if you've been paying attention - she'll resent that you've turned an intimate, pleasurable experience into something that depends completely on her ability to get off and your ability to make it happen.
Ignorant Inquiry #5: Is it that time of the month or something?
Should you dare to utter this question, at least make sure she's not holding something she could hit you with. If she's mad about you because you did something stupid (and yes, you are capable of making us mad for reasons wholly unrelated to our hormones), she'll be even more livid that you're trivializing her anger. And if she is a little testy due to PMS, you're just going to set her off even more
