The Chicago Sun-Times reports that museum visitors are doing double-takes at the uncanny likeness. Carved during the New Kingdom Period (1500 B.C. to 1050 B.C.), which is the same time period as Ramses and King Tut, the bust has been part of the Field Museum's collection since 1899 but has only been on public display since 1988.
It gets even weirder. The nose on the Egyptian bust, just like that of Michael Jackson, appears to have deteriorated. There is a logical explanation for both.
--The bust: Fully 95 percent of Egyptian statues and busts were defiled by early Christians and Muslims, who thought of them as idolatry. By taking off the nose, it made the statue or bust less human and, therefore, less offensive, reports ArtDaily.com.
--Michael Jackson: After undergoing numerous plastic surgeries, Jackson's nose appeared to be deteriorating, too.
Another odd fact: In 1993, Jackson created a music video titled "Remember the Time." Set in ancient Egypt during the time of the Pharaoh Ramses, the video also starred Eddie Murphy as Ramses, Iman as his queen and Magic Johnson.
