Titled "Cars & Summer Romance Survey," it also revealed that nearly half have been using automobiles as a lovemaking spot since they graduated from high school. Twenty-six percent say they've been auto-celibate.
The car of choice for getting lucky in love? That would be a BMW, cited by 30 percent, while a Mercedes was the choice of 24 percent. Others included a classic Corvette (15 percent), sophisticated Rolls Royce (8 percent) and the Bentley (7 percent). Tied at 4 percent each were the Lamborghini, Ferrari, VW Beetle and Mini Cooper.
Size matters: When asked "Which car is a sign that a man is overcompensating for his fragile ego or physical shortcomings?" fully 30 percent of respondents instantly said the Hummer, 20 percent said the Cadillac Escalade, 18 percent said a Lamborghini, 15 percent said a Ferrari and 10 percent said monster trucks.
Here's a disturbing fact: According to the survey, a stunning 66 percent of the respondents said they would date someone just because he or she drove an impressive car, but 55 percent said they wouldn't snub a romantic advance because of their intended's quality of wheels.
What is it about a car that most impresses a prospective date? The cost.
