Christian Bale doesn’t have a cell phone

The ‘Terminator Salvation’ actor, who has a four-year-old daughter Emmeline with wife Sandra ‘Sibi’ Blazic, prefers a “low-maintenance” existence and lives in a modest house.

Christian’s co-star Bryce Dallas Howard said: "He barely has a cell phone. He's not one of those flamboyant actors that need a lot of people helping him. He and his wife don't have a nanny. They live in a one-bedroom house. They're very low-maintenance, low-key, real people.”

Christian insists his life hasn’t changed since he became a Hollywood star and he has no intention of losing his grip on normality.

The British hunk explained: “I do exactly the same as I've always done. I don't have an assistant. I don't drive a flashy car. I do everything myself. I go to the supermarket myself, the hardware store. It's something I would greatly miss because I would start to feel like a prisoner."

The 35-year-old actor is so uninterested in a lavish lifestyle, he turned down the opportunity to stay in a luxury villa while he was shooting ‘Public Enemies’ in Wisconsin.

The movie’s director Michael Mann said: "He just wanted an ordinary room. Christian is so modest and unassuming. He moves with real life."
