His last film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus , was a hit at this year's Cannes film festival and Heath Ledger's legacy continues today with the release of a music video he directed for the indie band Modest Mouse.
According to the group's MySpace page, “ the animated video for King Rat will make its debut exclusively on MySpace Music starting August 4 ". The video coincides with the release of the new Modest Mouse EP, No One's First and You're Next , which includes the track.

Ledger reportedly presented Modest Mouse with the idea of directing a video for the yet to be released King Rat , as a way to raise awareness of commercial whaling.
The project was unfinished when Ledger died in January last year but film production company The Masses completed it in his honour. Proceeds from iTunes video downloads in the first month of release will go to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, an international non-profit marine wildlife conservation organisation.
