The 37-year-old actor - whose character Smith Jerrod dated Samantha Jones, played by Kim Cattrall - has revealed it is likely he will reprise his role as the hunky model for the second big screen instalment.

He said: "Will I be in the next 'Sex and the City' film? There's a good chance, yeah."

Jason's involvement in the new movie has sparked rumours Smith and Samantha could reunite after their four-year relationship ended on the big screen last year.

The actor has also praised his co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, who is expecting twins through a surrogate later this year.

Speaking about Sarah Jessica - who already has a six-year-old son James Wilkie with husband Matthew Broderick - Jason said: "That's awesome. She's a really neat lady. She's obviously prolific in what she's done - she's successful - but when she brought the kid to the set, mom would come on. She's very sweet with children, you can se that joy and innocence come out of her."
