The LRX Concept has been created as a desirable, premium and more compact four-wheel-drive which extends the definition of "breadth of capability". It boasts of new technologies, lightweight design and turbo-diesel hybrid powertrain.
Currently, the LRX is purely a concept, envisioned as a premium car in the luxury and executive sector, with the visual presence of a larger vehicle in a compact package. Its many Land Rover design cues include bold new interpretations of the signature clamshell bonnet, the floating roof and the solid "wheel-at-each-corner" stance.
Land Rover sees the LRX as a vehicle that would be comfortable on Collins Street or Pitt Street, but would not flinch at getting its wheels dirty. Smaller than a Freelander, its lower weight and reduced aerodynamic drag are designed to give significant gains in fuel efficiency and reduced C02 emissions. It features full-time four-wheel drive, Hill Descent Control and Land Rover's Terrain Response to optimise traction on difficult surfaces ranging from icy roads to wet grass, gravel and snow.
The interior of the LRX is designed to be roomy, practical and versatile, trimmed in soft leathers in rich tan and dark chocolate complemented by polished aluminium details.
Melbourne International Motor Show is organised and promoted by the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce through its dealer division the Australian Automobile Dealers Association (Vic).
