Vanessa Paradis has returned an engagement ring Johnny Depp bought her

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star was recently spotted shopping for the band in California, but Vanessa – who he has been with for 10 years – reportedly took it back as she was unhappy with the design.

A source said: “Johnny got Vanessa a drop-dead gorgeous engagement band but she returned it to the jeweller. She wants her ring to be absolutely perfect.”

The couple – who have two children, Lily-Rose, nine, and six-year-old Jack, together – are yet to officially announce they are planning to tie the knot, but are rumoured to be marrying in April.

The pair are keen to keep the ceremony as intimate as possible, and will only invite 50 of their closest friends and family to the service which will be held in a chapel on the grounds of their $1.25 million French estate.

A source said: “They're a very private couple. It's no surprise they'd want to celebrate at their home.”

Director Tim Burton is expected to act as best man, while Rolling Stones rocker Keith Richards is also due to attend.
