The convicted drug dealer, a Turkish citizen, was serving a seven year sentence when he made his escape.
The inmate had been making stationery with other prisoners and after his shift was finished, climbed into one of the boxes of goods, which was then couriered out of the prison.
The man is described as tall and broad-shouldered. After the courier van left the prison, he cut his way out of the box and through a tarpaulin before jumping off the lorry.
The jail's chief warden, Beate Peters said: "As soon as the prisoner jumped off the back of the lorry his friends would have picked him up."
She added that fellow convicts must have known of the plan but were refusing to talk.
