Monday's bombing at a police station in Ingushetia is the latest in a string of attacks targeting police and government officials in the troubled North Caucasus region.
Other recent bombings and attacks in Ingushetia include:
_ Aug. 12: gunmen kill construction minister Ruslan Amerkhanov in his office in the Ingush capital, Magas; his assistant is wounded.
_ June 22: a suicide bomber hits a convoy carrying regional President Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, badly wounding him and killing three bodyguards.
_ June 13: gunmen fatally shoot Bashir Aushev, a former deputy prime minister who oversaw police agencies, as he stands outside his home in Nazran, Ingushetia's main city.
_ June 10: snipers kill Aza Gazgireeva, deputy chief justice of the regional Supreme Court, as she drops her children off at a kindergarten in Nazran.
_ March 4: a man fires several grenades at the home of former President Murat Zyazikov in Nazran. Zyazikov is unhurt, but the attacker dies in explosion.
_ Sept. 30, 2008: a suicide bomber attacks the motorcade of Ingushetia's top police official, Ruslan Meiriyev. Meiriyev is unhurt, but a bystander is killed, along with the attacker.
