An Andorran government spokesman says a bridge under construction collapsed, trapping seven workers, two of whom are likely dead. Four others are in serious condition in the hospital.
The spokesman told The Associated Press that a steel and concrete viaduct collapsed on the men Saturday. The bridge project leads from a tunnel linking two valleys near the town of Massana in the tiny principality straddling the Spanish and French border.
The spokesman spoke on condition of anonymity in keeping with government rules.
Rescue workers were at the scene trying to free the trapped men.
