Atletico Madrid signed Fiorentina defender Tomas Ujfalusi on a three-year contract Tuesday.
The 30-year-old Ujfalusi, who captained the Czech Republic at the European Championship last month, joined the Spanish league club on a free transfer since his contract with the Italian team ended on Monday.
Atletico is seeking reinforcements for next season, when it enters the Champions League for the first time in 12 seasons.
Atletico, which conceded 47 league goals last season, has also signed Netherlands defender John Heitinga from Ajax.
