An Australian man has been sentenced to more than five years in prison in Bulgaria for molesting minors and setting up a child porn network.
A court spokeswoman Elena Bangieva says 36-year-old Joseph Lee Smith was sentenced by a district court in the Black Sea city of Varna on Monday.
Canberra-born Smith was arrested in November in a rented apartment in Varna, where police seized a video camera, CDs, sex toys and stimulants.
At the closed-door court hearing, Bangieva says Smith confessed to three charges of molesting underage children and creating pornographic materials.
It was not immediately clear if Smith's lawyers would appeal the sentence, which can be done within 15 days.
