Police say three soldiers and a civilian are dead after an army convoy was bombed in Pakistan's northwest.
Local police official Akhtar Ali Shah said initial reports suggested that a suicide bomber carried out the attack near the town of Charsadda. Several other people were injured.
Shah said the convoy was carrying reinforcements to the Mohmand tribal region next to the Afghan border where security forces are battling suspected Taliban militants.
Pakistani security officials have said that tension between India and Pakistan over the Mumbai attacks could distract them from battling militants in the northwest as part of the U.S.-led war on terror.
