Britain's defense ministry says a British soldier has died during fighting in Afghanistan's Helmand province.
The soldier from the Parachute Regiment was taking part in an operation Tuesday against the Taliban in the Upper Sangin Valley, a statement said. The soldier's family have been told.
The death toll of British troops in Afghanistan has now risen to 107 since operations began in November 2001.
