Police say a 24-year-old British tourist has died after the four-wheeled motorcycle she was riding plunged into a gully in the Waikato district of New Zealand's North Island.
Sarah Bond of Ilford, Essex, was taking part in a quad bike tour Saturday on a farm near the Waitomo Caves tourist attraction when she appeared to lose control of the machine and crashed down a steep bank, police said.
Emergency services took almost four hours to recover the woman's body after being alerted to the accident around noon (0000 GMT).
"Unfortunately when we arrived on the scene there was nothing we could do," an ambulance service spokesperson said.
