Bulgarian police on Thursday arrested a man suspected of stabbing his two children to death before dousing his house with gasoline and setting it on fire.
Mancho Panyukov, 29, allegedly fatally stabbed the two boys, aged 5 and 8, late Wednesday in the southern village of Osikovo.
Police had cordoned off a large area in the region and found Panyukov hiding in a neighboring village. The man surrendered and confessed to killing his two sons, police said.
The suspect's wife, her parents and two other relatives were seriously injured in the fire and were taken to hospital.
Police said they are investigating what could have motivated the crime.
