World Cup skier Thomas Grandi of Canada is retiring for a second time.
He is leaving competitive skiing at 36 with the Vancouver Olympics less than a year away. Grandi says it would be too difficult to juggle family commitments with preparations for the 2010 Games.
He first retired in 2007 but changed his mind last summer because of the Olympics in his home country.
Grandi and his wife, cross-country skier Sara Renner, have a young child. Grandi says his retirement will help Renner's medal chances in Vancouver.
Grandi had nine top-three finishes in his World Cup career, including back-to-back victories in giant slalom in 2004. He finished only once in the top 10 this season.
