In the May 14 AP editorial roundup, an editorial about Barack Obama's presidential campaign and race was erroneously attributed to The Independent, Massillon, Ohio. The editorial was a reprint from The Register-Mail in Galesburg, Illinois. The excerpt said:

Obama's effort to keep his race from being a campaign issue has failed.
