Police say they have found grenade launchers, assault rifles and other firearms at an industrial site in Sydney's eastern suburbs.
The "military-style" weapons were found in a safe in the strong room of an industrial site in Rothschild Avenue, Rosebery, about 2pm yesterday.
They included an M16 and 9mm Colt assault rifles, handguns, grenade launchers and ammunition, police said.
Police say they were tipped off about the weapons while investigating a domestic dispute at a hotel in Malabar in July.
Police wish to speak to a 65-year-old former licensed firearms dealer, who was understood to have been involved in the dispute and who, police believe, owns the weapons.
It is understood that police are investigating the possibility that he was once authorised to possess the weapons, but that this might no longer be the case.
The man is understood to be suffering from health problems and police are waiting for a time when he can be interviewed.
