A former television host who tried to parachute off the Empire State Building has been convicted of reckless endangerment and faces up to a year in prison.
Thirty-two-year-old Jeb Corliss, of Malibu, California, was convicted Wednesday in Manhattan state Supreme Court.
Corliss tried to parachute off the landmark building in 2006.
Prosecutors said that despite Corliss' claim to have studied traffic patterns around the 102-story landmark, he could have caused injuries when he jumped.
Corliss is the former host of Discovery Channel's "Stunt Junkies." He testified that he has done more than 1,000 safe jumps from buildings and cliffs in this country, Japan, Russia, France and Malaysia.
