Fiorentina has unveiled its new signings Juan Manuel Vargas and Gianluca Comotto.
Fiorentina paid 12 million (US$18 million) for the 24-year-old Vargas, who has a five-year contract, according to media reports Sunday.
The Peruvian said Brazilian star Roberto Carlos will be his role model.
"I want to reach the heights of Roberto Carlos," Vargas was quoted as saying in Sunday's La Gazzetta Sportiva. "I love kicking the ball like he does."
Vargas played two years for Catania.
Fiorentina also bought 29-year-old Comotto for 4 million (US$6 million) from Torino on a three-year contract, La Gazzetta Sportiva said.
