Fulham completed the protracted transfer of England striker Andy Johnson from Everton on Thursday.
Fulham did not announce the fee for the 27-year-old forward, but British media widely reported it to be about 10.5 million pounds (US$20.5 million; 13.2 million).
Johnson's move had been planned since last month, but seemed to be on the verge of breaking down following a medical examination that reportedly raised concerns over a knee problem.
Fulham may have used the news to re-negotiate the fee, since Johnson was rumored to be worth as much as 13 million pounds (US$25.4 million; 16.4 million) before the medical.
"There has been a lot of speculation regarding this transfer during the last week, very little of which has had any foundation," Fulham manager Roy Hodgson said. "I am just happy to be able to focus on the positive news that Andy Johnson is now a Fulham player, one who we have great hopes for."
Johnson, who scored 22 goals in 73 appearances for Everton, signed a four-year contract with Fulham, which has now signed 11 players since narrowly avoiding relegation at the end of last season.
Johnson is likely to play up front alongside fellow new arrival Bobby Zamora.
"I am glad that the agreement is now finalized and that I can concentrate on playing football for Fulham," Johnson said. "Roy has been great over the last week or so of ongoing discussions and his support in getting me here has only strengthened my ambition to give 100 percent for him and the team every game.
"Fulham is a Club with a lot of history and ambition and I'm pleased that I can be part of that."
