Police in northern Greece say they have defused a bomb outside the office of the Chilean consul.
Police say the bomb found Wednesday consisted of a clock and gun powder. No group claimed responsibility for the attempted bombing. Authorities did not say whether the consul was at his office when the bomb was discovered.
Arson attacks and bombings have risen in Greece in recent months, carried out by anarchist and far-left militant groups who typically target banks, government agencies and diplomats' cars.
