Police say the beheaded body of a child found dumped along a rural road has so many similarities to a missing 11-year-old girl that investigators believe they might be a match.

But Detective Altermoth Campbell said Monday there is no way to know for certain if the mutilated girl is Ananda Dean until DNA tests are completed in coming days.

Dean was reported missing in St. Andrew parish two weeks ago. Relatives say a school uniform and shoes found scattered near the decapitated body appeared to belong to her.

There have been no arrests.

In a separate case, a teenager in a northern coastal town has been charged in the killing of an 11-year-old boy. The victim's dismembered body was found stuffed into a trash bag.
