Sweden midfielder Tobias Linderoth will miss Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Hungary because of a foot injury.
"He's definitely out," Sweden coach Lars Lagerback said Sunday. "He'll be X-rayed tomorrow. His foot is swollen. He doesn't know what happened."
Linderoth, who recently came back after a long injury layoff, was injured just a few minutes into Sweden's opening World Cup qualifier in Albania and was replaced by Birmingham's Sebastian Larsson. The match ended 0-0, a big disappointment for Sweden.
Linderoth was a member of Sweden's squads at the 2002 and '06 World Cups and the last two European Championships.
Goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson also sprained a finger during the pregame warmups Saturday. Isaksson is expected to play Wednesday's match in Stockholm, but Lagerback called up Eddie Gustafsson as a backup. Gustafsson has played five games for Sweden.
