Hondurans in the U.S. are organizing rallies supporting the ouster of the Central American nation's president, even as he plans to return to his country accompanied by U.N. officials.

In Atlanta, about 100 people gathered Tuesday in front of the Honduran consulate.

In Florida, home to the nation's largest Honduran community, organizers held a small rally Monday in support of the Honduran military's decision to depose President Manuel Zelaya. They plan another for Wednesday in Tampa. A similar event is in the works in New York.

Miami activist Jose Lagos says Zelaya was trying to violate the country's constitution. Other activists agreed but say they wish the military had acted more transparently during Zelaya's removal.
