Robbie McEwen surged ahead in the mass sprint to lead an Australian sweep Sunday of the top three places at the Hamburg Cyclassics cycling race.
McEwen covered the 213.7 kilometers (132.8 miles) in 4 hours, 37 minutes, 46 seconds to beat Mark Renshaw and Allan Davis.
Winner of 12 Tour de France stages in his career, McEwan used his sprinting experience and late burst to edge ahead from a group of 52 riders who arrived to the finish in a large group.
Murilo Antonio Fischer of Brazil was fourth, ahead of Jose Joaquin Rojas of Spain and Peter Wrolich of Austria. All were credited with the same time as the winner.
Linus Gerdemann of Germany, who won the nine-stage Tour of Germany event Saturday, was not a factor in Sunday's one-day race.
