The verdict of watershed election for United States President is out and Democratic candidate Mubarack Hussein Obama or Barack Obama for short, has defeated Republican John McCain by a huge margin of 175 electoral votes. This is the first time in US history that an African-American is going to occupy the White House and thereby become the world's most powerful executive.
This has happened four decades after Martin Luther King Jr launched his struggle against discrimination of 'coloured' people.
But for Obama there seems to be little time for 'honeymoon period' as he has a lot to do to shore up the troubled economy, war in Iraq and Afghanistan and host of other issues.
