Six people were found dead on Monday in northern Vietnam, police said, in rare shootings that state media attributed to gang violence.
The men were found with bullet wounds at the site of a coal storage early Monday in the northern province of Quang Ninh, a police officer said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
The state-run Labor newspaper reported on its Web site that members of two rival gangs had chased one another in cars and on motorbikes before the shooting.
Shootings, or any type of violent crime, are rare in Vietnam, where firearms are strictly regulated.
In June, a Vietnamese soldier went on a shooting rampage in Hanoi, killing four people and then himself, after being accused of stealing a cell phone.
