Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene won the toss Friday and chose to bat first in the fifth and final one-day international against India, a day-night match at Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
With the series already sealed by India 3-1, both teams rested key players for the match to give others match practice.
Sri Lanka dropped out-of-form batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan and rested key bowlers Muttiah Muralitharan and Chaminda Vaas and replaced them with Mahela Udawatte, Jehan Mubarak and Dilhara Fernando.
India rested batsman Subramaniam Badrinath and bowlers Harbhajan Hingh and Praveen Kumar, recalling Pragyan Ojha, Rudra Pratap Singh and Irfan Pathan.
